Concert 1: Take flight with Beethoven, Haydn and Day

The opening weekend of the WVCMF 2024 season features performances on Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th in Sokol Blosser’s beautiful tasting room, located in Dayton, OR. This program opens with two incredible string trios written nearly 400 years apart - the first an early baroque gem by Isabella Leonarda (the first woman to ever publish a sonata), followed by In Whose Mouth, the Stars, a work full of celestial wonder written by rising star Akshaya Tucker. Next up is Haydn's soaring string quartet "The Lark," and finally a pairing of Beethoven's beloved Opus 18 No.5 with Variation V, by Composer-in-Residence Kevin Day, who drew inspiration from that very Beethoven masterpiece.

Admission includes a complementary three wine tasting specially paired to the musical program. Ticket prices are inclusive of all handling and processing fees.

Following the concert, food and additional wine will be available for purchase to enjoy on the winery grounds.
